BLM ~ Bloggers Like Me
BLM ~ Bloggers Like Me
Bloggers Like Me {BLM} held multiple events at the same time on Saturday, August 31st in Atlanta GA, Los Angeles CA, New York NY and the DMV {DC, Maryland & Virginia} area. I had the pleasure of hosting the Atlanta event and meeting some BEAUTIFUL ladies! Talk about some warm spirits and GREAT SYNERGY!!!!! These ladies were “it” and ranged in age from twenty four to forty eight however you could not tell. Everyone was on the same level and it was BEAUTIFUL. I simply love when a group of ladies can get together and just do their thing and do it well. Well, that was us and I loved it.

If you have ever seen me present then you know it is very important we have an informal comfortable environment, all attendees have a voice, an open mind, a warm spirit and allow me to spoil them beyond measure with knowledge, surprise speakers, gifts and takeaways. Everyone left with a door prize. Lol… I cannot help it. Well, this group of ladies were the perfect audience. I truly enjoyed Robin of RobinCharmagne.com, Sherelle of CaramelConversations.com, Shanti of IAmSimplyShanti.com, Courtney of LifeWithMochacic.WordPress.com, Angela of LifeShiftingSeasons.com, Jennifer of EatBreathTravel.com, Michelle of DivasWithAPurpose.com, Bernetta of BernettaStyles.com, Courtney of NatrulyCourtney.com, Jamillah of Soukle.com, Yolanda of YourUnexpectedBeauty.com and our special guest Yalanda Lattimore of the famous DryerBuzz.com. We had the EXPERIENCE of REAL relationships for REAL. Let me share…

BLM 1

The SYNERGY of our experience was simply unbelievable. We quickly became Sister Friends as we shared, cared, helped and offered each other some GREAT pointers on our Who, What, When, Where, Why and How moments. Every single lady had something of value and a voice to contribute and we had multiple things in common. We talked Brand, Branding, Protecting Your Brand, Monetizing Your Brand, PR for Your Brand and then some. We even ran over an hour as the questions and knowledge overflowed from the presentation AND we still did not cover everything yet I was still able to under promise and over deliver! You will be seeing some DYNAMIC incorporations and changes on the above mentioned blogs. We now ALL recognizing we are the entrepreneurs, we are not just bloggers yet writers of stories with a voice and we bring plenty to the table. Simply stated we are story tellers and growing from this experience. Woot, woot…

I challenged the ladies to take away two new people from this BLM Experience to connect with. This is SO important. I have always lived by this however I truly saw the value in doing this in March when I met the unstoppable Vernetta of WomenAreGameChangers.com. She is a POWER HOUSE within herself and I love her business style. She reminds me a lot of myself when I was in my twenties! Lol… My two takeaways from this experience are actually twelve takeaways. All eleven of ladies present plus Christa of CocoaNina.com who had to miss the event for our freedom and country because she was called back to Germany due to the Syria challenge. Yes, I embrace them all and WE have a lot to contribute to each other. There are even talks of a follow up gathering in October. 😉 We had awesome activities throughout the day such as registering our hashtags, the image we want our blog to project, why you should do a press release your announcing blog and it’s happenings, elevator pitches, why YOU are brand personally and how you reflect your brand and how your brand reflects you, why we actually started blogging {My reason made the room spin. Lol}, the importance of business cards, why we should be looked at as media and then some! Now do you see how we ran over time?!?  Then Yalanda Lattimore of Dryer Buzz came as a personal favor to me and she shared priceless tips, insight and knowledge.

When Yalanda spoke you could hear a pin drop on the carpet! Lol… I knew she was good, real good however, she brought out the priceless greatness and shared so much from how she got started to haters to the road map to success to balance and why it is important and so much more. You honestly had to be there to appreciate it and “get it”. The best lesson I think we each got from her which we plan to implement before the close of 2013 is the “sell something” concept. We all got that and embraced it. Lol… Her words were refreshing, capturing and most of all real and doable. I am so grateful for her and to her. THANK YOU Yalanda.

Well, in closing I have to say if you missed this one do not miss the next one. Lol… BLM is a movement. I see great things ahead. Hopefully, Leslie will consider city chapters and/or holding quarterly events such as this one because the Atlanta one rocked! 😉 Again, thank you for allowing me to host.
