INNOVATIVE CHILDREN’S THEATRE COMPANY LAUNCHING SUMMER WORKSHOP IN EAST POINT

ATLANTA, GA APRIL 20, 2015 – ATLA THEATRE COMPANY, a new and emerging non-profit organization, is launching its children’s theatre workshop on the campus of Christ Lutheran Church located at 2719 DeLowe Drive in East Point, GA. The workshop will include training in acting, dance and music taught by local instructors to children from 6 through 12 years old. A key element of the workshop is its “LA” experience where students and parents get to interact with professional artists from the Los Angeles area via the internet mixing theatre and technology to create a bridge for training and sharing ideas. The 2 hour summer workshop classes are scheduled to begin mid-June and will take place on Saturdays for 8 weeks. Tuition is $120.00 per student.

ATLA THEATRE COMPANY is a 501c3 organization founded in February of 2014 out of a desire to provide training in the theatre arts to children and their families from a creative and real world perspective, especially for children living in underserved communities. The company’s vision is to develop self-confidence; self-expression, creativity, and the focus children need to boldly go into the world with an appreciation of performance and the business of theatre. Future activities of the organization are the addition of a teen’s workshop and children’s production ensemble.
