Young and Raw Logo Big Picture

Yay…back on track and rocking it out! I started out strong with this challenge…at least planning wise. I was planning, preparing and doing it. Then I got a little side tracked by Blogalicious (Oct. 3rd to 5th) and an email glitch (Oct.5th to 9th) from Young and Raw however my body was amazingly missing it. It had already started correcting and enhancing my system from the energy levels to the blood sugar levels to the digestive track and so much more. I really missed it. So I tried to “KimPossible” it by doubling up on my smoothie intake per day. So here is the way my smoothie challenge has gone thus far.

Day 1 ~ Arthritis Support Smoothie
½ cup fresh or frozen mango
½ celery rib
½ lime, peeled and juiced
4 basil leaves
1-inch piece turmeric root or 1 tsp. turmeric powder
1 cup water

Health Benefits: There are a couple of star ingredients in this smoothie which make it amazing for cooling down various inflammations.

Day 2 ~ Migraine Relief Smoothie
2 cups watermelon
½ celery rib
6 basil leaves
½ cup water

Health Benefits: You may have heard hydration can be key in helping reduce headaches, including migraines, and this has been confirmed by research reviewed in a recent publication of Neurology.

Day 3 ~ Joint Pain Relief Smoothie
¼ cup frozen or fresh pineapple
¼ cucumber
4 basil leaves
1-inch piece of turmeric root or 1 tsp. turmeric powder
½ cup water

Health Benefits: There are fantastic benefits of cucumber. One of those benefits is it removes excess uric acid from the body which help prevent joint inflammation.

Days 4 to 9 were missed. So I combined the following:
Day 10 ~ Was 4 & 5
Day 11 ~ Was 6 & 7
Day 12 ~ Was 8 &9
Day 13 ~ Was 10 & 11
Day 14 ~ Was 12 & 13
Day 15 ~ Was 14 & 15
So now I am back and track. I do plan to continue two smoothies a day. Going forward I will combine day 1 and 16, day 2 and 17 and so on. I just like it and feel better. Really excited about tomorrow’s Calm & Relaxation Smoothie. Here it is…

Day 16 ~Calm & Relaxation Smoothie
1 frozen banana
2 celery ribs
½ cucumber
1-inch piece ginger root
1 tsp. cinnamon
½ cup almond milk

Health Benefits: It’s banana time. Scientists have found bananas trigger the production of the chemicals serotonin and norepinephrine, which are mood-lifters and are believed to help prevent depression.

Well, that is all for now. It is never too late to join us. We have fifthteen more days to go.
