This conference is near and dear to me. As a Spelhouse baby, my mother graduated from Spelman and my father graduated from Morehouse, I have a deep love for everything Spelman College, Morehouse College, the Atlanta University Center and Bennett College. I attended the 9th conference and it was a game changer for me. Ms. Smith brings in everyone you need to hear from to make your soul burn with desire.
Let me tell you the REAL Olivia Pope has spoken at this very diverse conference. Some heavy hitters of the past Women of Color conference have been Linda Rice Johnson, Chairman, Johnson Publishing Company, LLC; Maj. Gen. Marcia Anderson; Carol’s Daughter Founder Lisa Price; journalists Shaun Robinson and Michel Martin; actress Nicole Ari Parker, corporate executive Kimberly Davis, Essence magazine’s Mikki Taylor and Vanessa K. Bush; media expert Arianna Huffington and White House director Kiran Ahuja just to name a few. It is a beautiful experience. Hopefully, you will join me in this year’s conference.
